What Is Reiki?

WHAT IS REIKI?

The act of laying hands on the human or animal body to comfort and relieve pain is as old as instinct. When experiencing pain, the first thing most people do is to put their hands on it. When a child falls and scrapes her knee, she wants her mother to kiss it to make it better. Moments later, she is off playing again, having forgotten all about the pain she briefly endured.

The living body, human or animal, radiates warmth and energy. This energy is the life force itself, and has as many names as there are human civilizations. The Polynesian Hunas call this healing force Mana, Native American Iroquois call it Orenda. It is known as Prana in India and Ch’i in China.

Reiki is not a religion or affiliated with any religion. This life force energy is the source of life itself and far older in concept and fact than any religious philosophy. It holds no doctrines, creeds or contradictions to the Universal Laws. Reiki is a natural non-invasive technique which is intended to balance and energize the body’s electromagnetic field.

Reiki will either give to the recipient or take away the proper amounts of energy to balance the mind, body and spirit. This alternative method is utilized as an enhancement of the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of the recipient rather than a cure-all for disease.

Reiki is a pure energy form. When combined with the willing and sincere desire of the recipient, a cleansing occurs within their emotional and spiritual consciousness. The Reiki practitioner’s role is to be a conduit of the flow of Reiki energy and it is up to the recipient to manifest harmony and balance.

The Reiki practitioner is a channel or conduit of the Reiki energy and removes the “Ego-Will” to empower the recipient’s will to utilize Reiki where best suited. The practitioner is a clear vessel through which the Reiki energy flows. This allows the higher soul’s purpose to be the outcome of the Reiki session.

Remember, a Reiki practitioner does not heal or cure anything. In fact, no practitioner ever heals. It is the body that performs the healing process. Reiki helps relax the body, mind and spirit so that the body may heal itself. ~

TESTIMONIALS

I was introduced to Reiki through a good friend only a few years ago. Prior to that, I’d never heard of it, though I was in Martial Arts in my teens through early 20’s and familiar with meditation, ch’i energy and mind over matter. Once introduced it made perfect sense to me and I wondered why I’d never heard of it previous and since then several friends had finally mentioned they were Reiki Masters all along. The human body has remarkable capability to heal itself, and Reiki aids in helping the body (and mind) do just that. I highly recommend Reiki to anyone open to it.

Since becoming a Reiki Master in June of 2010 I have found that I am more cognizant of energy movement on a regular basis. Prior to learning Reiki, I had a passing awareness, a knowing without experience, that energy was all around me, but, did not actively perceive it or understand its significance. I would say that the significance is to experience the Oneness as a reality rather than just a new age concept. I can sense as the energy emanates and moves from one object to another. Whether it’s animate or inanimate, visible or invisible, I can feel a perceptible “field” of energy that flows and is contiguous, rather than separate. I’ve also come to the conclusion, through experience and working with the energy, that all the different names for the energy are labels and it’s all the same energy… Yet another example of Oneness.

When I married my work and spiritual practices, everything began to fall into place. I utilize the healing energies of Reiki to assist my clients through the process of receiving the tattoo and the healing that goes along with it. Reiki is used on the tattoo ink, the water and directly on the client. I knew there was a huge risk in discussing Reiki with my clients, but I did it anyway. My clients love receiving Reiki and have responded really well. I am so blessed to have a large client-base that appreciate the shamanic aspects of healing in combining tattoo art and Reiki for the highest good of each client. My continued success as a tattoo artist is due to the utilization of those aspects in all areas of my life.

I can barely remember life without Reiki. I can honestly say that it saved my life and brought me to the beautiful place of love and gratitude where I am now! Becoming a Reiki Master is one of the most beautiful gifts in my life, and I am grateful and honored to utilize it daily:

·         Upon waking, I open the flow of Reiki for the day by speaking the Reiki Principles

·         Reiki the food I prepare for myself, clients, friends (both human and animal)

·         Reiki all food, water, medications, etc. before ingesting

·         Reiki all my plants and all of nature and wildlife while watering plants & feeding animal friends

·         Surround crystals, candles, all parts of sacred space with Reiki before Reiki ritual

·         Reiki the car before traveling

·         Send Reiki to friends (human, animal, faerie, and all others) who are having issues with health, emotions – this can be done to current time, past, or future – most AWESOME that there are no boundaries on when/where – I just place the Reiki in a beautiful pink bubble and send it for them to tap into whenever they are ready to receive

·         Reiki bed, pillows and sleeping area for beautiful peaceful rest

·         Close each day by surrounding myself and the entire universe with a beautiful bubble of pure love and light

Again, I am most honored and grateful to be a vessel of this most divine gift of the healing power of Reiki.
